Title change: After the protest, Akshay Kumar's film 'Lakshmi Bomb' was renamed 'Lakshmi'
The title of Akshay Kumar's film 'Lakshmi Bomb' was much opposed. Finally, the title of the film has been changed. The film is now titled 'Lakshmi'.
The decision was taken out of respect for the sentiments of the viewers.
Today, on October 29, the film's director Raghav Lawrence went to the censor board for a censor certificate and he discussed with the board official and decided to change the title of the film keeping in view the sentiments of the viewers. Producers Shabina Khan, Tusshar Kapoor and Akshay Kumar have decided to name the film 'Lakshmi' out of respect for the sentiments of the audience.

Karni Sena and Hindu Sena opposed the title
Karni Sena advocate Raghavendra had issued a notice to the makers of the film asking them to apologize for hurting religious sentiments and change the title of the film. The Hindu Sena had lodged a complaint against Information, Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar against the cast, crew and promoters of the film. The complaint accused the filmmakers of misusing the name of Mother Lakshmi in the film and hurting the feelings of Hindus. The letter demanded a change in the title of the film. Hindu Sena president Vishnu Gupta said if the title of the film was not changed, he would go to the high court and not allow the film to be released.

In the film, Akshay's character Asif and Kiara play the role of Hindu girl Priya. In the film, Asif wants to marry Priya. When the trailer was released, users accused Akshay Kumar of promoting love jihad. Users called Akshay Kumar a fake patriot.

trailer of 'Lakshmi', which will be streamed on digital platforms on November 9, was released on October 9. Akshay Kumar's film is a Hindi remake of the Tamil film 'Kanchana'. The film is directed by Raghav Lawrence. The first film was to be released on May 22, 2020. However, a lockdown was declared due to Corona and the theaters were closed due to it. That is why it was decided to release the film on digital platforms and the film will be streamed on Disney Plus Hotstar on November 9. Now, theaters have reopened from October 15th.
