Former captain Kapil Dev, who led the Indian cricket team to its first World Cup, has suffered a heart attack. According to media reports, he was admitted to a Delhi hospital on Friday after complaining of chest pain. Kapil Dev has undergone angioplasty due to blockage in the heart.

According to doctors, Kapil Dev's condition is stable. They are out of danger. Following the news of the heart attack, many fans on social media, including Harsha Bhogle and Akash Chopra, have prayed for his speedy recovery.

Kapil last played in 1994

Kapil Dev made his ODI debut on 1 October 1978 against Pakistan in Quetta. He played his first Test in 1878 against Pakistan on 16 October in Faisalabad. Kapil retired from cricket in 1994. He played his final ODI against the West Indies in Faridabad.
