Ahmedabad:
After delimitation of 48 wards and 192 seats , the existing 48 wards and 192 corporators' seats in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation have remained unchanged. The newly merged Bopal Ghuma Municipality and Auda areas will be included in the existing ward. The situation will be the same in four other corporations.
Surat: 30 wards and 120 seats, 60 seats reserved for women.
According to the new delimitation, 30 wards of the corporation have been created in Surat. In which 120 seats of councilors will be held. Thus there will be an increase of one ward and 4 councilors. Out of 120 seats in Manpani, 3 seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes and two seats are reserved for women. Four seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribes out of which two seats will be reserved for women. 12 seats are reserved for backward class out of which 6 will be reserved for women of backward class while 60 seats out of total 120 seats are reserved for women.
Changes in the reserved seats of ST and SC in VMC
No increase has been made in the number of wards of Vadodara Municipal Corporation. The previous 19 wards and 76 seats have been retained. However, after the new delimitation, the number of voters will increase from 40,000 to 50,000. At present there are around 87 thousand voters in each ward of Vadodara Municipal Corporation. Currently there are 5 seats reserved for Scheduled Castes. There were reserved seats for 2 women and 3 men. However, according to the new delimitation, seats have been reserved for 3 women and 2 men. 3 seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribes. Of which two were reserved for men and one for women. However, after the new delimitation, a reserved seat for 2 women and 1 man has been declared.
Rajkot Municipal Corporation: 18 wards and 72 seats have been retained, 13 seats
have been retained and 18 wards have been retained after the increase in Rajkot limit . In Rajkot, five villages namely Mota Mawa, Munjka, Madhapar, Ghanteshwar and Manharpur have been included in Rajkot city. 72 corporators will have to be elected in the election of the corporation. Of which 36 seats are reserved for women. Out of the total 72 seats, 5 seats will be reserved for Scheduled Castes. 3 out of 5 women will be for SC. 7 seats will be reserved for Bakshipanch. 7 out of these 7 seats will be reserved for Bakshipanch women. 1 seat will be reserved for tribal women. For the first time in Rajkot, one seat will be reserved for tribal women.
