7.2 magnitude earthquake shakes Japan, tsunami alert issued

A magnitude 7.2 earthquake has shaken Japan. The Japan Meteorological Agency has issued a tsunami alert following the quake. At 06:09 local time, a magnitude 6.0 earthquake shook the region of Miyagi, with the epicenter located at a depth of 60 kilometers (60 miles) from Miyagi prefecture.
