Modi launches Rs 20,000 crore scheme for farmers: 55 lakh people to get jobs



Prime Minister Modi on Thursday launched the PMMSA Matsya Sampada scheme. The scheme is expected to provide employment to 5.5 million people, and a fish cryobank will now be set up in the country.

In which farmers will increase production with the help of fish sperm. Announcing the Corona transaction package, Sitaram said Rs 11,000 crore would be made available for the development of marine, inland fisheries and aquaculture.

What is PMSSY's Matsya Vyavastha Yojana (Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana)
Fisheries is an emerging business in the country. The sector still employs 1.5 million people. The central government wants to provide employment to about 55 lakh people in 2024-25. The government has launched the scheme as part of increasing fish production and increasing employment.

Fisheries Secretary Dr. Rajiv Ranjan said the target is to increase fish production from 137.58 lakh tonnes in 2018-19 to 220 lakh tonnes in 2024-25.

Cryobank will be formed in the country
Giriraj Singh in collaboration with the National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, NFDB will work to establish fish cryobank in different parts of the country. This will be the first time in the world. When the fish cryobank will be established.

Fish farmers can easily get a loan of Rs 3 lakh
The government's objective behind linking fish farmers with Kisan credit cards is to enable more people to engage in non-agricultural activities and increase their income. Now with the help of Kisan Credit Card, farmers can meet the need of fish, shrimp farming and money coming in time of business.

Kisan credit card holders can take a loan of up to Rs 3 lakh at an interest rate of 4%. Farmers are being given separate interest rebates on the timely repayment of loans. 

Farmers can apply for a credit card by writing an application to the bank. The application should be accompanied by a photo, identity card, residence certificate, and a photocopy of the land ditches.
