Gujarat will be the first state to have the world's first CNG terminal. The plan to build a CNG terminal near Bhavnagar port at a cost of Rs 1900 crore has been approved. The first phase will cost Rs 1300 crore and the second phase will cost Rs 600 crore.

GMB will approve Foresight Group, Padmanabh Mafatlal Group, and Netherlands-based Boskalis as project developers. It is planned to develop Liquid Cargo Terminal, Container, and White Cargo Terminal and Ro-Ro Terminal with a capacity of 45 lakh tonnes per annum. Alang-Bhavnagar's reputation as the world's largest shipbreaking yard will be added to the shipbreaking and ship recycling industry. To develop Bhavnagar port, dredging in channel and port basin, construction of 2 lock gates and infrastructure facilities for CNG transportation onshore will be developed.
