The Union Public Service Commission has announced the dates for the Indian Economic Services and Indian Statistical Services (ISS) examinations. Both the exams will be held in two shifts during October 16-18. The first shift will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the second shift will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
YA will be taken after the written examination
Each candidate appearing for the examination will have to appear for the written examination first. There will be a paper of 1000 marks. YA will be taken from the students who pass the written test, it will be of 200 marks. Papers of English and General Studies will be common in both the examinations.

There are fewer vacancies this year compared to last year
15 seats are to be filled for IES and 47 seats will be filled for ISS. Seats for IES are lower this year than last. In 2019, UPSC recruited for 32 seats for IES and 33 seats for ISS.
