Varun Dhawan's new film Judwaa 2 is racing towards the Rs 100-crore mark really fast. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh termed Judwaa 2success as 'outstanding' and said that the film collected Rs 77 crore in four days. The film's collection spree strengthened over the weekend and dipped slightly on Monday. But going by Taran Adarsh's praise this doesn't affect Judwaa 2's overall box office run. Judwaa 2 has also surpassed the first week collection of Badrinath Ki Dulhania, which was Varun Dhawan's first release of 2017. Judwaa 2's success may come as surprise to film critics who panned the film and said that it has 'nothing new to offer.' Take a look at Judwaa 2's four-day box office report:
Judwaa 2 released along with Mahesh Babu's SPYder and Kranti Kanade's CRD. The latter stands nowhere in the box office race this weekend but Mahesh Babu's film, which released two days before Judwaa 2, performed spectacularly at the box office. SPYder, directed by A R Murugadoss, spun a web worth crores in USA and south India. SPYder is made in Telugu and Tamil and marks Mahesh Babu's Tamil screen debut.
Back to Judwaa 2 - The film is a remake of Salman Khan's 1997 film Judwaa, which was also directed by David Dhawan. Salman Khan, who played the lead roles of twins Raja and Prem in the 1997 film returned for a cameo appearance in Varun's version.
Judwaa 2 also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Taapsee Pannu, Anupam Kher, Upasna Singh, Ali Asgar and Vivan Bhatena.
