15 days will go into cleaning-sanitation, not a single new film is likely to come out till Diwali
Multiplex-theaters will start but very few people will come, so there will be no income for 6 months
Multiplex-theaters were closed from March 16, six months before the rise in Corona cases across the country. While multiplex-theaters are still closed after Lockdown and Unlock 4, the next Unlock-5 is likely to open multiplex-theaters. If the central government allows the opening of multiplex-theaters as per the guidelines, it will feature old-fashioned classic films.
Old films will be shown to revive the multiplex-theater business as no new films are likely to be released till Diwali. Despite 6 months of lockdown and unlock, multiplex-theaters are still not open, which has caused huge losses to the owners of more than 250 multiplexes and single screen theaters in Gujarat. The business of multiplex-theaters in the state has suffered a loss of about Rs 600 crore.
A multiplex cost Rs 10 lakh in
six months. Out of the Rs 600 crore loss incurred during these six months, the highest loss of Rs 250 crore was incurred by multiplex-theaters in Ahmedabad city. With a revenue of Rs 25 lakh per month against which not a single rupee has been earned due to Corona and a multiplex has incurred a cost of Rs 10 lakh in 6 months considering maintenance and other expenses.

Majer also demanded a surcharge for the lightbill: owner of Wide Angle.
wide angle based on the SG Highway, Ahmedabad multiplex owner rakesabhai Patel has damaged hundreds of crores of which was the 16 March date to close the multiplex-theaters told Divyabhaskar, and had to face the costs .
If the central and state governments allow the opening of multiplex-theaters, they will do so as per the guidelines, but for that the government needs to give 10 to 15 days. Not a single new film is likely to come out till Diwali and to revive the business of multiplex-theaters, old movies will have to be shown which the viewers initially want to see and have seen more. When multiplex-theaters start there will be no revenue for 6 months, as very few people will come to see the film, so even housefull is unlikely.
The
owner of Wide Angle, which employs only 40 per cent of the more than 15,000 employees working in multiplex-theaters, further said that a theater or multiplex employs at least 30 and at most 100 to 120 people, with 40 per cent of staff leaving other occupations or jobs. Are going Employees will be rehired when the theater opens, but employees are not currently called to work. Across the state, more than 15,000 employees are employed in multiplex-theaters, but only 40 per cent of them are currently employed.
Besides, the surcharge of light bill has also been demanded by Majre. When the theater is notified the day before it starts, it will be easier to fully sanitize the theater, clean-up and call the staff.
Asha on 'Suryavanshi', '83' and Aamir Khan's 'Lal Singh Chadha'
was released in cinemas before ' Lockdown' i.e. 'Kamyab' and 'English Medium'. Then 'Bumfad', 'Dhumketu', and 'Gulabo Sitabo' came on digital platforms instead of cinemas. Because of this, cinemas and film-distributors are suffering a lot. Theater owners, who are currently suffering from crores of rupees, are hoping to make a whopping 12 big films, including Akshay Kumar starrer 'Suryavanshi' and 1983 based on the 1983 World Cup, and Aamir Khan's 'Lal Singh Chadha', which are expected to make huge profits if released after opening in cinemas.
