Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama had earlier spoken of starting educational work in schools and colleges from January, but recently Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal's talk of taking the board's offline exam in February has created confusion for the Gujarat government. According to government sources, educational work in the state is not likely to start from January.


Regular education work cannot start in Gujarat if CBSE avoids holding board exams. There is no clarity in India regarding corona vaccination and there is no situation where children can be forced to come to school.

Sources said that due to the local body elections in February after January, government teachers will be busy with their responsibilities so it will be a little difficult to do academic work in the meantime. The board will be examined, but it is not yet clear what the final decision will be for the remaining standards, but the option of mass promotion is not entirely unacceptable.

Speaking to Divya Bhaskar, Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said, "It was announced earlier to start educational work, but we had to change our decision." The decision to start academic work will be announced only after a cabinet meeting chaired by the chief minister, but we will necessarily take the board exam in May. The decision not to take the exam is a mistake, as it will have a detrimental effect on the quality of education and students.
