Corona in the state is scheduled to start vaccination from Saturday tomorrow. The night curfew has been extended in 4 major cities of the state namely Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot and Surat. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani during a function in Jamnagar announced that the night curfew has been maintained till January 30-31. Earlier, police chief Ashish Bhatia had announced extension of night curfew in four cities - Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot.

Night curfew was reduced by one hour only 15 days ago. Night curfew
has been kept in four metros of Gujarat Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot from 10 pm to 6 am. The state government had earlier reduced the night curfew from eight hours to eight hours due to the reduction in the transition to corona. 

The announcement was made by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani after a meeting of the state's core group 15 days ago.

The night curfew had a major impact on business and employment
, with entertainment, hotels and some businesses suffering huge losses. Earlier these places were discharged, but when re-closed they were going at a loss.

 There was a peak season for all these businesses during the New Year celebrations, but they were closed. The curfew time was started from 10 a.m. instead of 9 a.m. so that they no longer have to bear the loss.

Several industries, including hotels and restaurants, had demanded relaxation during the curfew.
Earlier in the day, curfew was imposed in four cities, including Ahmedabad, from 9 pm to 6 am, following the sharp rise in corona cases after Diwali.

The High
Court had directed the state government to ensure that the situation in the state after Diwali does not worsen during and after the festival of Makar Sankranti. The High Court had urged the state government not to panic over drastic decisions. Don't worry about people getting frustrated.

The High Court had directed the public prosecutor to state what the government wanted to decide on the occasion of Makarsankranti by seeking information.A further hearing in the case will be held on January 8.
