Due to the thick fog, people had to cross the road with their vehicle lights on even in the morning. At least six people have been killed in an accident on the Agra Express Highway due to thick fog.

The meteorological department has forecast rains in several cities in north India in the next few days, while Skymet estimates that thick fog is likely to cover more than 15 cities in northern India.


Airline General Indigo at Delhi Airport tweeted that there were difficulties in takeoff and landing of its aircraft at Delhi Airport. The schedule of some flights was also affected. However, the Delhi Airport Authority said that despite the low visibility, the movement of aircraft would continue normally.

Ghaziabad air worst According to the
Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Ghaziabad air is worst in Delhi-NCR. Here the Air Quality Index (AQI) has reached 372. 352 in Greater Noida, 341 in Delhi, 347 in Gurugram and 326 in Faridabad. The CPCB estimates that there is currently no chance of people being relieved of the pollution due to the reduction in air speed. The level of pollution is likely to remain around this for the next two days.

The level of pollution in Delhi is 3 times higher than the norms. According to the CPCB, air quality levels in many parts of Delhi have crossed 300, falling into the 'very bad' category.

A family from Lucknow was on their way to pay homage at the Balaji Temple, but the car collided head-on with a truck due to thick fog. The accident was so severe that all the occupants died on the spot.
